Education

Our Initiatives are also geared towards ensuring education to students from Muslim community who belong to economically weaker sections of society as well as those with outstanding academic performance:

Education plays a very big role in changing the condition of families as well as entire society. There is very low representation of Muslims in Government jobs and in bureaucracy which results in loss of political capital and further marginalization of Muslim community. There is need to bring Indian Muslims to mainstream and enable them to fight for their rights and justice. This can be done by empowering Muslim youth through Education and Employment and to make him confident and financially secure. Toward this endeavor we are undertaking following projects:

  • Sponsoring Engineering courses for orphans
  • Vocational training through technical courses to boys from economically weaker sections of society.
  • Provision of Higher Secondary Education for economically disadvantaged girls.

New Initiatives: Sponsorship for promising Muslim candidates to various educational courses:

  • Preparation for Civil Services Exams
  • Preparation for LLB exams/ course study.
  • Preparation for Engineering Exams/ Course study.

“Since 2016, the percentage of Muslim candidates has remained around 5 per cent, which is a big feat, considering that, since Independence, this number was around 2.5 per cent,” said Zafar Mahmood of the Zakat Foundation, which grooms Muslim candidates for the UPSC.

The realization among the community to invest more in civil services came with the 2006 Sachar Committee Report, which documented the poor representation of Muslims in government jobs, said Mahmood.

However considering that the Muslim population is 15% of overall Indians, Muslims need to increase their representation in Government jobs especially in Civil Services.

Education is the key to a brighter future for so many vulnerable children across the world. For those in remote areas, it’s often a life-line they cannot do without. Your donation can inspire hope through education.
